DIALING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE IRIDIUM SYSTEM

To better understand the dialing instructions that follow below, it must first be understood that the Iridium System is an international satellite telephone and paging network with it's own unique country code of "881" that is built into every 12-digit Iridium phone or pager number issued.

For example, a typical Iridium phone number such as 8816-3101-XXXX includes the country code of 881 within the phone number. For this reason, when dialing to an Iridium phone or pager, it is not necessary to dial the country code for the location of the Iridium phone or pager you wish to reach.

Dialing From An Iridium Phone
Power on the Iridium phone.
Enter your PIN code when prompted to do so (factory default PIN is 0000 or 1111) and press the "OK" button.
When preparing to place a call, push and hold the ZERO (0) key until a plus sign '+' appears on the far right-side of the display.
Once you have the plus sign '+' on the display, dial the country code and number of the party you wish to reach.
NOTE: As with any international call, both country and city codes are place calls.
Once you have entered the phone number correctly, press the "OK" button to send the call from your Iridium phone.
When you have completed your call and ended your conversation, press the "OK" button to end the call.

Dialing To The Iridium Phone Or Pager
Access the international dialing network in the country you are in as you normally would for placing any international call from that country.
For Example: To place international calls from anywhere in the U.S. to a non-Iridium phone from a home or office land-line phone, the caller must first dial 011 to access the international dialing network in the U.S., then dial the country and city code along with the international phone number in question.
When dialing to an Iridium phone or pager, the procedure is the same as dialing to a non-Iridium number: After reaching the international network (Example: dialing 011 in the U.S.) enter the Iridium phone or pager number you wish to reach (Example: dialing 011-8816-3101-XXXX from the U.S.)
NOTE: No matter where an Iridium customer is in the world, a person attempting to reach the customer's Iridium phone or pager needs to dial internationally to the Iridium phone or pager number only, as described above, and no additional country or city codes are needed.

Dialing From An Iridium Phone To Another Iridium Phone
After the Iridium phone is powered on and the PIN code has been entered, push and hold the ZERO (0) key until a plus sign '+' appears on the far right-side of the display. After the '+' sign, dial the Iridium phone number in question and press "OK" to send the call.
